INCIDENT REPORTING

E-mail Print PDF

In the event of an incident involving MBC rowers or people using MBC's facilities, the incident must be reported in two places:

1.      The incident must be recorded on the GB Rowing / ARA' s online reporting facility. It can be found by going to www.britishrowing.org where at top left you will find "Online Services". There you will find "Incident Reporting".

2.      The incident must also be recorded in MBC's own Incident Book, which can be found in the gym.

Incidents involving Juniors must be reported by an adult: either the supervising coach or an otherwise responsible adult witness. The name of the coach responsible for the junior crew/s must in any event be included.

Reports should also include a short but accurate description of the incident with all salient details, and must include the names of the
boats/vessels involved and at least one crew member name from each boat.

A notice to this effect will also be prominently displayed on the boat bay doors and in the gym.

Vets Break Record at Boston Marathon

Magnus, Karl, Andy and Telfyn competed in the Vet B 4- at the Boston Marathon on Sunday 20th September 2009.
They completed the 50km race including running over a lock with the boat in a time of 3 hours 30 minutes beating the old record of 4 hours 20 minutes by 50 minutes. Only the Elite 4- record is faster.

The four had to make 6 unscheduled stops including backing down the boat to free the rudder from weed in the last 15 km of the race. This had affected the of losing 4 minutes off our time.

We can't wait to have another go next year!

MBC Supports Coldstream Guards

Molesey Boat Club were privileged and delighted to be able to play a small role in providing some respite to one of the platoons from The Coldstream Guards who are to be deployed to Afghanistan this month for a six month tour.

MBC jumped into action following a request from The Coldstream Guards to provide a fun day of team building at the club, with the aim to provide a challenging and enjoyable activity away from the usual familiarity of their daily work and to put them in an environment out of their comfort zone.

MORE MEDALS FOR MOLESEY!

E-mail Print PDF

Molesey athletes performed superbly at the World Championships which concluded today in Poznan, Poland.

Molesey's medal hunt started off on a golden note with Vicky Hansford winning Gold in the Adaptive Four by a clear margin.  This set the medal tone for our own Captain Andy Hodge claiming Silver in the Men's Pair.

Sunday saw the eights race.  Whilst no medals were recorded, the Molesey athletes flew the flag well in the finals.  Mel Wilson and Michelle Vezie came 5th in the Women's Eight ( a fantastic achievement in their first senior World Championships) and Tom Solesbury also came 5th in a very young British crew.  Both these results set the eights squads up for a very positive future in the lead up to London.   Congratulations to John West who coached the Men's Eight.

The summer of Molesey success keeps rolling on!!   Only one major international event remaining - The European Championships in 3 weeks time were Ruth Walczak and Jenny Farmer will be in the Women's Eight.

When MBC went to Peterborough...

Now, it’s not all work-work-work at MBC.  Once the final blast from the HRR band is over, the last stroke of Nat Champs taken and those donning their GB lycras head off for a summer of International racing, the rest of us head to Peterborough Regatta  - the pinnacle of pot hunting, partying, and pole-climbing...

The changes to the ARA points system meant that we decided to focus our efforts on sculling races this year. The Peterborough organisers greatly aided this plan by rejecting pretty much all our sweep entries due to oversubscription of the regatta. This also halved our overall entries, meaning a diminished force on the water but also a greatly boosted support squad.  First up, the results...
