Molesey Rowers Named in GB Squad for 1st World Cup of the Olympic Summer

Molesey Boat Club's Captain, Andrew Hodge, has been named in the lead GB Men's Heavyweight sweep crew for the first World Cup that opens the start of the Olympic season. Alongside Hodge, a large number of his club mates have also been named in the 8+ and the 2-.

In the 8+, the majority of the athletes are from ISPS sponsored Molesey Boat Club. James Foad, Moe Sbihi, Greg Searle and Tom Ransley have all been key members of this crew for the last 2 seasons. They are now joined by fellow club mate and Olympic Champion, Tom James, although he is still being looked at for the 4- over the coming weeks.

Rowley Douglas and Acer Nethercott are both being trialled currently by the Squad Coaches with a view to challenging Phelan Hill the cox for the last few years.

George Nash has been named in the 2- while Cam Nichol who has had a bad run of luck with injuries will race in the 2nd GB 2- at the World Cup with hopefully a view to further trialling later on.

Best of luck to all our club mates at the opening regatta of what will be a fascinating summer!
