High Performance Juniors help GB win Gold

The GB J16 Eight had a big input from the Molesey High Performance Juniors in defeating the French Eight at the GB v France match held at Cardiff Bay, Wales on Sunday 12th July 2009.
  
Due to rough water conditions the eight with Patrick Graham (Bow), Aaron Wilkins (Stroke) and Bruno Hallwood (Cox) raced over a shortened course of 750 metres with a free standing start to defeat the French by third of a length.
 
Special thanks must be given to Molesey's junior coach Paul Willcocks who was selected by team GB to coach the eight. For the past week the eight boated from Westminster School Boathouse as four of the crew came from Westminster with the other two crew members coming from Maidenhead Rowing Club. Paul made a concentrated effort on technical drilling for the crew during the training week. The results of which can be seen as GB kept the timing through the rough water.
