Hampton Head 2010

Hampton Head is Molesey’s home head race, and a first opportunity for the larger crew boats to test their speed against future regatta opposition. Molesey had an extremely successful day winning four events.

Molesey’s J18 2- of Shepherd and Brown overturned the defeat to Hampton School they suffered in the Small Boats Head, this is an encouraging result coming just a couple of weeks prior to the first GB trial of the season (November’s trial having been cancelled due to the weather). In the 2nd Division Shepherd and Brown continued their winning ways when joined by Wilkins, Neary and guest cox for the day Prigmore in the J18 4+, the margin a comfortable 24 seconds earned the crew a handsome Cup, a first for MBC at this Head.   In the WJ17 quads Hughes, Lyster, Hallwood and Thompson put in a massive 43 second victory and in WJ15 8’s MBC recorded a one two with the win being taken by Hughes, Thew, Brown, Meadows, Carr, Keidasch, Cocks, Godfrey and cox Winter by 17 seconds.
