Quintin Head: Double success

Saturday 23rd January saw the first competitive run out for Molesey's Senior Men's and Women's eights.

The Men's squad had two eights entered, unfortunately due to last minute illness and injury, the second Women's eight had to pull out at the eleventh hour. Both squads had jsut come back from an intensive small boats camp, so everyone was eager to jump in the eights and put their technical points into action.

This clearly worked a charm for both squads as both the Men's and Women's top crews won their category, Senior. The Men's crew had a double bonus of also winning the entire head, beating all the Elite category eights, including many Tideway based clubs and univesities; a good start to the HORR campaign.

The Women's eight was the second fastest women's crew of the day, behind a strong Oxford blue boat.

The second Men's eight put in an admirable performance coming 11th overall, beating all other second eights, except that of Imperial.

The next even for the eights will be Hammersmith Head at 2pm on 20th February, also on the Tideway. However in the meantime, the majority of the Men's and Women's top crews are focussing on GB Trials in Boston on the 13th February.
