Three GOLD medals at the Coup de la Jeunesse

Three Molesey Juniors won double Gold at the recent Coupe de la Jeunnesse held in Hazewinkel, Belgium. The regatta is held as two separate events on Saturday and Sunday and pits the GB crews up against 12 other nations from across Europe.

Matt Hardy and Theo Darlow, competing in the JM4-, dominated their event leading from start to finish to win by clear water both days. Sunday was the more impressive with a 6s margin over the nearest crew Belgium.

Scott Cockle earned his Gold medal on the Saturday coxing the JM4+ from behind to take the win in the last 500 over the Czech Republic. Sunday was a more straightforward affair with the crew taking the lead in the 3rd 500 before stretching out to win by over a length.

This follows up a successful season for the boys having all been part of the Child Beale winning 1st 8+ at the National Schools' Regatta in May.

A great start to your international careers and huge congratulations from MBC!
