GB Junior Trials

3 Junior Men attended the recent GB Junior Trials Regatta in Nottingham and continued their impressive season and trials campaign.

Felix Warren teamed up with Matt Heywood from Walton RC, finishing 10th in the time trial and guaranteeing a spot in the A/B semis and a top 12 placing. After some tough racing they finished a 5th in the B final, earning them their invitation to seat racing post Henley.

Mikey Dalton and Theo Darlow (JM2-) won the time trial and then their semi final in comfortable fashion, setting up what looked to be an exciting race with St Paul’s in the final. An unfortunate clash between the two pairs in extremely challenging conditions disrupted the racing with St Pauls taking the initiative and the win and the boys coming home in 2ndplace. Both pairs were substantially ahead of the rest of the field. A fantastic result setting them up for what looks to be an exciting regatta season. Congratulations to Calvin Tarczy and Douwe De Graaf from St Paul’s School for the victory and continuing to set the standard of junior sweep rowing.

Overall a very good weekend keeping them all in contention for GB selection in the Summer.
