The Senior Squad at Molesey has two main streams: club and high performance. Both follow a similar programme and both cater for different athletes.
This is for athletes who have a full time job or are in full time study, but still wish to train at a top level. Their training is split before and after work and has a slightly lower volume, but higher intensity as its loading, to account for the limit on training time available.
The Club squad aim is to win domestic competitions and Henley Royal/Henley Women's regatta.
The club is conveniently based five minutes walk from Hampton Court station which is a short train ride away from central London, perfect if you have a job in the city.
High Performance Squad
The HP squad is the main training group at Molesey. This squad has two focuses: winning Henley and getting athletes into national squad teams. The HP squad train between 7am-1pm each day.
This squad is ideal for someone taking a gap year after school/university and/or someone wanting to break into the under 23/senior GB Squad.
Molesey Boat Club are proud to have the best training facilities available for its athletes.
We recently opened our state of the art training facility which includes:
Weights lifting area; fitted with all the necessary (and new) weight lifting equipment, platforms, weights and stretching area.
Brand new concept two ergos
A rowing tank; allowing athletes to hone their technique
The club is based on arguably one of the nicest stretches of water on the Thames and has a fantastic fleet of boats for the senior squad to use.
Molesey Boat Club is a truly unique rowing club. In any one session you could have rowed past a group learning to row for the very first time, juniors, or even one of the famous “Leg-ends eights” which contains individuals with countless Olympic Gold medals in it! This is a club with a fantastic history, but also the facilities, ambition and atmosphere to keep writing new history…
