HIGH PERFORMANCE AND DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

For athletes wanting to train full time, aspiring to row for Great Britain or develop over the course of a gap year.

This squad encompasses athletes who have been rowing at a high level at school or university and are looking to gain selection for the national team at an U23 or senior level.

Athletes looking to take a gap year prior to commencing studies, train in this group, helping them build up from school level training, to full senior training, preparing them for university rowing. As well as targeting GB selection, goals along the way include winning pennants at the Head of the River and events at Henley Royal and Henley Women’s Regatta.

The training for this squad is tailored to age, training level, ability and long-term targets, with most water training focusing on small boat ability as well as moving big boats for key events.

CLUB SQUAD (BK)

For athletes looking to train at the highest level, whilst fitting around full time work; sympathetic to the demands of life outside rowing!

This squad is one of the biggest and most competitive in the club. Affectionately known as the ‘BK’ or Breakfast Klub, they train early morning before work on the water, and as and when through the day for their land sessions.

Many of the BK athletes are long time stalwarts of the club but we are always welcoming to new members.

Their primary targets are the club events at Henley Royal, on both the men’s and women’s side.

Training with the Molesey squad has been a huge privilege. I look forward to coming back as often as possible and can’t wait to watch them win everything at Henley, in my opinion the best rowing club in the world.
