JUNIORS

The very successful Molesey Boat Club junior programme is run by our Head Junior Coach, Julian Egan-Shuttler, supported by a team of fantastic coaches.

MBC Junior Mission Statement:

To provide an accessible junior rowing programme from J14-18 with crews aiming for success at the National events and individuals gaining Great Britain Junior Team representation.

J14-15 Squad (School Year 9-10)

This group focuses on learning to row and developing an understanding of the sport.
As the first step on the rowing pathway, we aim to deliver a programme that teaches the fundamentals of the rowing in a fun and engaging way, developing an understanding of the sport.

J16-18 Squad (School Years 11-13)

This group is typically for those with at least one year’s rowing experience and aspirations to compete at the highest level including National Schools’, Henley Women’s, and Henley Royal Regatta. We are proud to support individuals aspiring for and achieving GB Junior Team representation, with a history of doing so. We provide focused training with excellent facilities, boats, and a team of skilled and experienced coaches.

How to Join the J14-15 Group

We recommend that all newcomers complete a summer learn to row course with us. This course is the ideal introduction to the sport and teaches the basics in a fun, enjoyably environment with other beginners. Further details on the course can be found under our junior learn to row page.

We also welcome those who have previously gained experience at other clubs or completed a learn to row course with other clubs in the last 2 years. This group is open to experienced rowers who wish to join all year round.
