Masters' Rowing

Molesey Boat Club welcomes Masters rowers at all levels and ages.  We have a very active and lively membership of rowers and scullers from GB Gold Medal winners to complete novices participating in a variety of heads and regattas near the club, on the tideway and further afield. We have produced impressive results in events such as Henley Masters, National Masters, Head of the Charles and the Boston Marathon. We all share a passion for the sport and enthusiasm for our club.

If you are an experienced rower or sculler and would like to give our group a try, we can introduce you to a normal outing based on your experience and then find a fit for you. If you’d like more information, please contact our Membership Secretary, Neil Richardson.

Coaching is organized by the club to include outings 3 times a week on Tuesday and Thursday nights and Sunday mornings.    New in 2016, the Molesey Rowing Centre will offer our members access to a state-of-the-art rowing tank to fine-tune technique when river conditions do not permit sessions on the water.

As the Masters’ squads provides a wealth of experience, many members are involved in the running of the club.  This can include helping out at our own Regatta, serving on the Committee, writing the club newsletter or simply being there to show a youngster how best to rack a boat.  Like many things in life, you tend to get out what you put in – so getting involved in club life can be both fulfilling and rewarding.

The social calendar also includes the annual pilgrimage to Remenham Club during Henley Royal Regatta.  Club athletes always take part in the racing while the more seasoned members relax over some refreshment and watch the racing.

Join us at MBC and row with enthusiasts and lovers of the sport.
