Comedy Night at Molesey Boat Club March 1st 2023

The MBC Committee (in association with Emma Phillips) is delighted to announce a return of the Comedy Night to Molesey Boat Club on 1st March 2023. This is TV-proven, West-End standard stand-up comedy in the comfort of the MBC clubhouse. Profiles of the amazing line-up can be seen below, and tickets can be booked now (don’t delay!).

Ria Lina

Ria Lina is a touring Filipina comedian, actress and writer known for her appearances on BBC’s Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News for You, The Now Show, Mock the Week and QI. In November she was named as one of The Evening Standard’s 'Hottest Comedians You Should Be Watching Now.' Throughout her stand-up career, Ria has taken Live shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her work tackling topics such as autism, topical news, and racial identity. Her career stretches from stage and screen, to radio and the occasional ukulele - all in a unique style.

Ria is the only Filipina comedian in British stand up and has a BSc in Experimental Pathology, an MSc in Forensic Science and a PhD in Virology under her belt, so it’s not only Ria’s comedy that’s highly intelligent. A regular pundit on Sky News, BBC News, Times Radio and Talk Radio, Ria is in demand for both her scientific insight, confident delivery and biting wit.

Russell Hicks

Provocative, anarchic and unfiltered, Russell Hicks is a risk-taking comic whirlwind, captivating audiences with his razor-sharp wit, acute observations and slick take-downs. From the moment he steps on stage, crowds are hooked by Hicks' infectiously rebellious personality, brash Americanisms and unapologetic style as he creates a one of a kind comedy experience. Russell has also established himself as a major player on the comedy circuit, regularly hosting and headlining at clubs nationwide including Hot Water Comedy Club, The Stand, Glee Clubs and Up the Creek, and has his own monthly residency at Top Secret Comedy Club in London. Such is his unique skill at adapting to any situation presented to him, Russell has been in constantly high demand throughout 2020. He has adapted to the new online world and has taken on projects ranging from hosting digital events formats to performing at corporate online functions and comedy club nights, proving his versatility as performer and artist. Russell is also a brilliant writer and currently has a project in development with the BBC, so watch this space!

Ben was Ed Byrne’s tour support for his 2013 UK tour and appeared at the Apollo, Hammersmith.

'The term 'circuit legend' is overused, but Norris is one of a handful that have been headlining for more than two decades and rarely departs a stage without leaving it torn to shreds in his wake. A master of the craft, this will be an hour of the most polished stand up you are likely to see.' GQ Magazine

'With 20 years on the clock, Norris is one of the most bankable headliners around and is a brilliant improviser'. The Guardian

'..unbelievably brilliant .' Jason Manford
